Swedish House Mafia began their 3.0 era in Mexico City, set inside the world’s largest bullring, the legendary Plaza de Toros CDMX. This historic open-air arena became the stage for a night of music, light, and dance as thousands of fans gathered to witness the trio’s powerful return. The massive circular venue was transformed into a glowing landscape of rhythm and color, with every beat brought to life by KVANT lasers powered through BEYOND Ultimate software. The result was a breathtaking display that turned the bullring into a living, breathing pulse of sound and light—an experience that perfectly embodied Swedish House Mafia’s new chapter.

Laser Setup and Technology Used

To bring the energy of the 3.0 era to life, InterlaserMX brought laser systems built to command massive venues like the Plaza de Toros. The setup featured 12x KVANT Atom 58 units delivering long-reaching aerials that filled the night sky, while 12x KVANT Atom 42 lasers added vibrant layers of texture and movement across the arena. 2x KVANT Spectrum 55 projectors completed the rig, creating the show’s most striking moments with massive beams that cut through haze and lighting for pure visual power.

All lasers were connected through an internal FB4 network, ensuring perfect synchronization and reliable control across the expansive setup. At the core of it all was Pangolin's BEYOND Universe, serving as the creative control system. Using BEYOND, operators blended precise timecoded cues with live performance control, allowing them to react to crowd energy and the flow of the music. With seamless OSC and DMX integration, lasers, lighting, and video merged into one cohesive performance—each element reinforcing the other to build an atmosphere that was both immersive and emotionally charged.

The circular architecture of Plaza de Toros became part of the show’s design. Beams radiated outward like spokes of light, surrounding the audience in a 360-degree experience. Sweeping fans, sharp beams, and liquid sky effects filled the air, turning the open sky above into a canvas of light that felt alive with sound.

The Team Behind the Lasers

The laser show was brought to life by InterlaserMX, working in collaboration with OCESA, one of Latin America’s leading live entertainment producers. Together, they produced a set that balanced power and creativity, delivering a performance that felt larger than life.

InterlaserMX managed every aspect of the laser design, programming, and operation. Their experience with KVANT technology and BEYOND software ensured that each cue matched the rhythm and emotion of the music, and that the visuals stayed perfectly aligned with the rest of the production.

Lighting the Way Forward

Swedish House Mafia’s performance at Plaza de Toros CDMX highlighted how light and sound can shape an environment. With KVANT Atom and Spectrum lasers driven by BEYOND Ultimate, the show transformed the world’s largest bullring into a powerful, immersive experience.
